Sample Answer 1:
What it was about:
I like to keep myself busy. My two favorite pastimes are reading and playing sports. I am not a big fan of electronic media and generally stay away from media sources. I seldom switch on TV, and when I do, I only watch sporting events or news. And while watching these programs, I generally turn off the volume when an advertisement is playing because I find advertisements annoying.
But recently, when I was watching a cricket match between India and Australia, an advertisement caught my attention. It was an advertisement for the latest phone launched by Samsung, the S10.
Where you saw it:
I saw this advertisement while watching the live broadcast of the cricket match on TV. I wasn’t expecting to like any commercial, but this one stood out and grabbed my attention instantly.
What happened in it:
I was interested in this advertisement for two particular reasons. First, I was already thinking of buying a new phone since my old one had started giving me a lot of trouble. And second, my favorite cricketer, Virat Kohli, who is also the brand ambassador of Samsung, was featured in that commercial. The ad started with Virat leaving from a hotel for his practice session.
He took a cab and forgot his phone in it. Once he reached the ground, he realized his phone was missing just when he wanted to call his coach. Normally, this would make anyone panic, but Virat remained calm. He told his teammate that the phone had amazing security features like face ID unlock and that he could track it easily by contacting Samsung customer care.
In the ad, he does exactly that, and within seconds, the executive helps him trace the phone and even calls it. The cab driver answers, realizes the phone was left behind, and returns it to Virat at the ground.
 Explain why you remember it:
The commercial ends on a cheerful note with Virat and the cab driver taking a selfie using the phone’s 32-megapixel front camera, which was marketed as the highest resolution available. I absolutely loved the storytelling and the way the phone’s features were seamlessly presented through a real-life scenario. The creativity and relatability of the ad made a strong impression on me.
In fact, the following week I went ahead and bought that very phone, and I cannot deny that the advertisement played a huge role in influencing my decision.
