When planning a weekend stay at a hotel, it is essential to inquire about availability, facilities, and pricing in advance. In You Are Planning to Spend a Weekend at a Hotel with your family IELTS General Letter, you will need to write a formal letter to the hotel management, requesting information to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for you and your family.

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You and your family are planning to spend a weekend at a seaside hotel.
Write a letter to the hotel for making the arrangement. In your letter,

• mention when you will be arriving and leaving
• say what type of rooms you would like and ask how much the weekend will cost
• inquire about activities and places of interest near the hotel

Write at least 150 words. You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:

You Have Just Read An Article In a National Newspaper

Dear Sir or Madam,

We are planning to spend a weekend in the city of Edinburg with my whole family – my wife, me and two young children, and I am hoping that you would ensure a comfortable and enjoyable weekend stay at your hotel. My arrival date would be the 3rd of August and the departure date would be the 5th of the same month.

Now, as for the kind of rooms I would prefer, it has to be one large family suite with two bedrooms, with two king-size beds in them, a balcony and Wi-Fi internet service. The suite should have a refrigerator to store some food, and a microwave oven to warm up the food. I also hope that our room comes with a complimentary breakfast. So, please inform me about the total cost of the weekend at your hotel.

Finally, I would also like to get some information on the activities and interesting places nearby the hotel so that my whole family can make the best out of their holiday weekend, away from home.
