Sample Answer 1
The chart illustrates the consumption of three different types of fast food: pizza, hamburgers and french fries, consumed by teenagers in Australia over a period of 30 years.
Overall, hamburgers and pizza had become the most popular foods among teenagers by 2020. However, consumption of fries declined over the period, which was the most widely eaten at the beginning.
With regard to hamburgers, consumption showed a steady increase from 10 times eaten per year to 90 times in the three decades between 1990 and 2020. Likewise, pizza was eaten only 5 times a year in 1990 among teenagers in Australia before rising dramatically to a plateau of 70 times a year from 2010 to 2015. Then, this increased slightly over the next 5 years and finished at 80 times per year as the second most popular fast food.
In contrast to this, in 1990, french fries were the most popular food with Australian teenagers and their consumption continuously dropped over a 30 year period. While it started out being consumed 70 times a year in 1990, the amount of french fries consumed by teens continued to decrease and ultimately arrived at its lowest point of 5 times per year in 2020. ieltsxpress.com
