Although more and more people read news on the internet, newspaper will remain the most important source of news. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Reading has always been one of the most satisfying hobbies anyone can develop. Not only it increases your knowledge and awareness about the society, it can also introduce you to the magical fictional world that an author can create. In short, reading articles or any literature varying across various genres can only enrich you by various means. While some people are casual readers the number of people with the habit of daily reading is immense, thanks to the dailies, the magazines, and our very own daily newspapers. Often accompanied by a cup of coffee over the morning breakfast table, newspapers are friends too many. People reading newspapers while they have their first meal of the day or while commuting to work has always been a common sight across many houses for many years. However, with the advent of global media and digitalization, the world has shrunk and got closer. Digitalization has affected almost every aspect of our life and our daily dose of news from all around the world is not an exception. People are now shifting to digital methods of reading the news or watching them or a combination of both either on their mobile phones, tablets or personal computers. In my opinion, eventually, digital media would replace traditional newspapers as we know it.
The news feeds on one’s digital platform are curated to one’s preferences and past historical searches, which ensure that a person sees only what he wants to see on his news feed. This has been one of the most common pain points amongst the traditional newspaper readers who actually have to skim the whole newspapers in order to decide what news is relevant for him and what not and this for obvious reason is time-consuming. The electronic devices are again more handy compared to huge newspapers and actually, smartphones which now almost every one posses one is sufficient enough to cater to all your daily dose of news requirement.
Additionally, newspapers require trees and forests to cut down and the counter effects of deforestation are self-explanatory for obvious reasons. Newspapers are printed once a day which practically limits its adaptability to give instant updates while this is the strong arm of the new aged media. Overall I would like to conclude that as people especially old generation needs some adaptability with digital devices and getting used to it may take time, apart from which, news coming in from digital spaces is all set to eradicate newspapers in coming future.
